  • Accept who you are NOW

A lot of the times people have a hard time letting go of the past because they don’t truly love who they are now. Stop! If you want to love yourself, there’s no time like the present.

Accept who you are and what you’ve become. Acknowledge everything you have accomplished in your life. Acknowledge and accept. The sooner you do this, the quicker you’ll be able to leave the past behind.

  • FORGIVE those who hurt you

For many this is easier said than done but it’s imperative that you do. Carrying around hate in your heart doesn’t do anything positive for your future. All that happens is you become bitter and closed off.

Forgiveness is not the same as forgetting. No one says that you have to forget what others have said and done to hurt you, but if you can find a way to forgive them, try.

It won’t be easy but once you can forgive, you can move on. That’s the ultimate goal!

  • Remind yourself every day to live in the PRESENT

This is key. Living in the past may have become more of a habit than you think. Every day when you wake up, think about everything in the present that you’re thankful for. There’s so much to be thankful for!

For one, you’re awake! You’re awake and ready to enjoy a brand new day! And if that isn’t enough to kickstart you into the present, just think of all the adventures and excitement that awaits you!

Once you can mentally let go of the past, you’ll be amazed at how your outlook on life can change.

You’ll start to see things in a more positive light giving yourself grace in all aspects of your daily activities.

Being able to love yourself being present in the moment is the perfect formula for letting go of the past.
